Niemeyer  Historical and ArchitectureTour

Niterói is the second city in the world with the largest number of works by the architect Oscar Niemeyer (the first being Brasília). This architectural complex brought significant cultural revitalization and a new tourist landscape to Niterói. The Niemeyer Path includes seven landmarks: the Popular Theater, the Science and Creativity Museum, the Roberto Silveira Memorial, the Tourist Assistance Center (CAT), the Juscelino Kubitschek Square, the Petrobras Cinema Center, and the Contemporary Art Museum (MAC). Along the shoreline, you'll also find another notable work by the architect: the Charitas Ferry Station.

MAC – Niterói Contemporary Art Museum

Designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer, the MAC is a masterpiece in itself, harmonizing perfectly with the privileged landscape overlooking the waters of Guanabara Bay. Inaugurated on September 2, 1996, it hosts temporary exhibitions and the João Satamini collection of contemporary art, one of the largest in the country, showcasing Brazilian art from the 1950s onward.
